Experimentation with jacquard weaving

The process of constructing a jacquard woven cloth can be very different to a hand woven one. Therefore the results of an experimentation shown on this site was essential to the further development of Form Weben.

Working on these pieces made clear that the traditional lines of seams and darts, usually utilised to create garments do not make sense when applied to a cloth. With a jacquard individual threads can be operated and therefore straight lines of patterns can be dissolved into the weave.
